I started my career in the Financial Services Industry on September 1st 1974 as an Agent with Confederation Life Insurance Co. of Canada, at their branch office in Port Of Spain Trinidad.
In May of 1975 I joined Crown Life Insurance Co. as an Agent at their Branch Office in Port of Spain. During my tenure as an Agent, I achieved the title of Club Vice President, finishing as the Agent with the second highest production in the Caribbean during the 1977/78 Club Year.
I also served as a Board Member of the Trinidad & Tobago Life Underwriters Association.
In August 1978 I was promoted to the position of Agency Manager, a positon which I held with the Company up until December 1986, when I migrated to the USA.
In August 1987 I started my career with New York Life Insurance Company, as an agent at the Westchester General office.
During my years at New York Life, I have served as a Training Supervisor, (now Sales Development Manager) with the responsibility of overseeing the administration of the Company's Training Program at the General Office. This included both classroom and field work with both new and established agents. I held this position from December 1995 to January 2003.
In February 2003 I was appointed as a Sales Manager, where my focus was Recruiting and Development of new agents. I held this position up until June 2005, at which time I returned to the field as an agent.
During my tenure as an agent I have been a consistent Council Agent, and was honoured as the Westchester General Office's Agent Of The Year for the year for the year 2012
I have also served as board memeber of the Westchester Chapter of the National Association of Life Underwriters, (now known as the National Association Of Financial Advisors).
I am also approved by the New York State Department Of Insurance And Financial Services as a Monitor to sign off on Continuation Education Credits.
Apart from my business activities, I have been involved in a number of Community Activities. For a number of years, I organised blood drives at the General Office.
I am also a regular volunteer for Comfort Zone Camp, a bereavement camp for kids under the age of eighteen who have lost a loved one.
I served as a Moderator for the Life Underwriters Training Course for a number of years and earned the "Life Underwriters Training Council Fellow" designation in 1998. In addition I served as a member of the Advisory Board which led to the absorbtion of the Life Underwriters Training Council into the American College.
I am currently licensed for the States of: NY, CT, NJ, MD, VA, GA, FL.
